Cookies and local storage
This notice explains the browser storage used by the current Deal Athletics website.
What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small pieces of data a site or service can save in your browser and send with later requests. Local storage also saves data in your browser, but it stays on your device unless an app explicitly sends it elsewhere.
Local storage used by the game
The workout app uses local storage for theme preference, settings, active hands, Multiplayer matches, and workout history. We do not receive those workout records through the app. Clearing this site’s browser data removes them from that device.
| Storage category | Purpose | Set by | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Theme preference | Remember light or dark mode | Deal Athletics in your browser | Until cleared |
| Workout settings and history | Resume and review local workouts | Deal Athletics in your browser | Until cleared |
| Active hands and Multiplayer matches | Resume an unfinished game | Deal Athletics in your browser | Until cleared |
Cookies and outside requests
The current Astro site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. We use PostHog analytics in a cookieless mode: it writes nothing to cookies or local storage and keeps its identifiers in memory for the current page only. Cloudflare, when serving and protecting the site, may set operational security cookies depending on the protections enabled. Your browser also contacts Google Fonts to load the site’s typefaces. We do not currently have a cookie preference center because there are no optional advertising or analytics cookies to configure.
| Cookie or request category | Purpose | Provider | When present |
|---|---|---|---|
| Operational security cookies | Protect site traffic when Cloudflare security features require them | Cloudflare | Depends on hosting protections |
| Font file requests | Load Barlow typefaces; the browser sends normal request information | Google Fonts | When a page loads the font |
| Advertising and analytics cookies | None. PostHog analytics is cookieless (memory only) | None | Not used |
The old template listed Adobe Analytics and Supabase cookies. Those services are not part of the current site, so their cookie names and expiration claims would be misleading here. We will update this inventory if the deployed configuration changes.
Your controls
You can inspect, block, or clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Clearing local storage will erase saved workouts and preferences on that device. Blocking storage may prevent progress from persisting between visits.
Updates and contact
If advertising, analytics, or other optional tracking is added, we will update this notice and provide any controls required for those features. See the privacy policy for email and service provider details.
